Genetic variation among extant individuals carries information about the evolutionary and genetic forces that have affected their ancestors. We are interested in leveraging this information to learn about the biology of humans and other species. Currently, the main foci of the group are to elucidate the human recombination process and to understand the role of natural selection in shaping genetic variation. To this end, we combine modeling, the development of statistical tools, and data analysis, often working closely with experimentalists.
